Week 4/5: Happiness

2 Corinthians 12: 10-11
“This is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak I am strong

So if you don’t know me that well, I LOVE this show on TLC called “Say Yes to the Dress”. It’s all about brides coming into this store called Klienfields in New York City, and finding their wedding dresses. It is so much fun to watch, and as a teenage girl I am so looking forward to my wedding. So obviously when I found out my parents were having a vow renewal this summer I was beyond excited to go shopping for her wedding dress, even if we weren’t going to Klienfields. And when we went shopping it was a blast! Getting to look at the gorgeous gowns the store was bursting at the seams with was so fun! But, surprisingly, my favorite part was not buying the dress. When my mom said yes, (and of course I had to ask “Are you saying yes to the dress?” first), the manager gave my mom a bell, and told her the store had a tradition of each bride making one wish and then ringing the bell, while the rest of the store was clapping and cheering in congratulations. And it took my mom a good 30 seconds to come up with her wish before ringing the bell. I acquitted this the fact that my parents are so honestly happy, that she had a hard time wishing for something else. Now although I am not married yet, my mom has told me time and time again, marriage is work. And I can totally see why. With my family’s crazy schedule of school, work, practice, and repeat it has got to be hard to not get really annoyed with each other after such stress. But, my parents are champions of stress, and win true happiness with one another.

My parents are the prime example to me of the Lord’s work. Being married I imagine is not even close to the easiest thing you can do in life, but because they get through the hard stuff they both get to be in a marriage in which they are so happy. God stripes us down to the core in tough situations to build us up again, and I could never be more grateful.

Thank you all so much for reading! So sorry for not posting last week, its been hectic! Also I think this verse is officially my favorite bible verse! Hope you all have a rocking week!
