“So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
So recently one of my good friends showed me this awesome song by Rob Thomas called “Hold on Forever”, (stop for a second and go look it up and then come back because that sound is amazing and my new favorite), and I want to prefeace this by saying I’m not a huge music person. My favorite playlist is the Top 50 Most Popular songs, and I’m a fan of what is on the radio at the moment, not usually anything else. But this song made me want to get up and boogie, obvious plus, and then I began to dig a little into the lyrics because I had been playing it so much and I realized how much they relate to this blog and my faith itself.
With his oh so beautiful voice my boy Rob sings:
“Take my hand, hold on forever
Just fall apart if you need to
I’m here and I won’t leave you now”
There is this awesome picture in the bible I used every Sunday at Sunday School with a picture of a hand that was supposed to be from a man with leaporse and one from Jesus, and the two are shaking hands and there is light beaming and birds and sunshine etc. showing that God will help us with our troubles and take our hand to both give us support and show us the way. I immediantly thought of this A) because of the hand and B) because the whole point of the song is that he will help you with your problems, and love you no matter what, and what greater example than the love we receive everyday from God?!?
The song is all about trust, how we have to trust those around us, and trust they truly love us. This can be really hard living in today’s world, where with only the tips of our finger tips we can find out literally a thousand bad things that happened that day around the world, so how are we supposed to know that this is all part of God’s plan? That’s the thing with having faith in my opinion, you can’t ever be 100% positive, you just have to trust that everything that is happening is happening for a reason, which is something I still need to work on.
Thanks so much for reading and your support with my endeavor as a blogger! I pray that this week you trust in both God’s means and reasons, because he’s got some awesome plans! Thanks again, and have a rocking week!
