“So we are ambassadors for Christ,
since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you
on behalf of Christ.”
2 Corinthians 5: 20
Hi everyone! Happy November! So the other day I was reading my bible, and I came across this verse. It resonated with me, and throughout this month I have been coming back to it again and again. I had never heard the phrase, “ambassador for Christ”, but man, how cool is that. The more I sat on this verse, the more I began to identify people in my life who are ambassadors of Christ, and I really wanted to share some of them with you.
Last year, I became close with a group of five girls. Our group chat name is “breakfast gals”, even though we have only gotten breakfast once haha. But these girls, wow they are ambassadors for Christ. Here are some examples of texts that have been sent in this group over just the last month.
“I just wanted to let you all know how amazing and loved and beautiful you are and the Lord loves you so so so much!”
“Just a reminder in case your mind is playing tricks on you today: You matter. You’re important. You’re loved. And your presence on this earth makes a difference whether you see it or not.”
“You go nowhere by accident. Wherever you go, God is sending you. Wherever you are, God has put you there. God has a purpose in your being there. Christ lives in you and has something he wants you to do through where you are. Believe this and go into the grace and love and power of Jesus Christ.”
And my personal favorite, which happens every 2 or 3 days;
“Is there anyway I can pray for you?”
The craziest thing about this is that we are never, ever, all together. Two of us are in college, one goes to a different school, and we have only all gotten together one time. But that doesn’t matter. We still can go to each other and celebrate how amazing our God is, together.
Being an ambassador for Christ can sound super overwhelming. While for some this means standing in front of their church and giving a sermon, for others it can simply be asking a friend if they need a prayer their way. God has given each and every one of us special talents, and the breakfast gals have proven to me that each of our talents are going towards a greater good.
Being an ambassador for Christ doesn’t have to be a big spectacle. It can simply be sending an encouraging text someone’s way, giving someone an extra special hug, or just being a listening ear.
Especially at this time of the year, when life can get really hectic, be an ambassador for Christ. Maybe that means making your own group, maybe it means shoveling your neighbor’s driveway. Find what it means for you to be an ambassador for Christ, and challenge yourself to do it.
Thank you so much for reading! Special shout out to the breakfast gals for showing be how to be an ambassador for Christ. I pray that this month you use your God given talents to bring glory to Him! Have a blessed month, and happy Thanksgiving!
We are missing Rebecca, but I wanted to show you guys these lovely gals! They are such ambassadors for Christ I can’t believe how lucky I am to call them friends AND sisters in Christ!
