“The Lord is my Shepard, I will fear nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside still water.
He restores my soul.”
Psalm 23

Hey everyone! Happy January! I hope that this month has brought you lots of blessings and love so far! I wanted to talk to you guys about my favorite passage this month, Psalm 23. I think that this is a perfect representation of what I’ve been thinking about a lot this month.

I’m definitely one to overthink, A LOT. When someone says one thing to me, I over analyze it, let it play on a cycle in my head until I can’t think of anything else anymore. A lot of times, this is what I find myself praying about. That I stop overthinking, stop over analyzing, and start trusting.

The Lord put this verse on my mind, and I think it totally showcases what I constantly need to remind myself. God is by your side every step of the way, therefore nothing of this world can hurt you.

One of my favorite songs this month has been “Surrounded” By Micheal W. Smith. I heard it while shuffling through Spotify, and it has some powerful lyrics. The whole song is based on two lines, yet it has reminded me many times this past month why I believe what I believe.

“This is how I fight my battles.
It may look like I’m surrounded but I’m surrounded by you.”

How beautiful of a concept is that?!? When we feel lost, lonely, or afraid, God is by our side. When we feel overwhelmed, like we’re drowning, God is by our side. When we feel surrounded, we are actually surrounded by God’s love and mercy.

God leads us, and it’s our job to follow. To see the green pastures that we lie down in. To understand that the waters we walk by are still, even when it doesn’t seem like it. And give Him thanks.

Thanks for reading!! I hope you have a blessed month and that you listen to whatever God is calling you to do!
